View file protection replication remote connection

Network-attached storage is a file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more accessible to networked devices.

About this task

See Understanding PowerMax File for storage systems for an overview of PowerMax File.

A File cluster is a set of File nodes that operate together. A File cluster can support a maximum of 8 nodes. The first node by default operates as the Cluster controller and any node can take over Cluster controller activities in the event of first node failure.

A Remote Connection object is required to establish a connection to a remote array. It contains mainly the IP of the cluster of the remote array along with the local site's File control network details. The remote connection must be created on both of the File clusters prior to the creation of any replication session.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system that supports PowerMax File.
  2. Select Data Protection > File Protection.
  3. Select REPLICATION > REMOTE CONNECTION.
